Springfield Regional Chamber Announces Super 60 Class of 2018

September 24, 2018

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., September 14, 2018 The Springfield Regional Chamber has announced the honorees for its annual Super 60 awards, presented by Health New England and sponsored by Farmington Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, The Republican and Zasco Productions.

Now in its 29th year, the program celebrates the success of the fastest-growing and privately-owned businesses in the region which continue to make significant contributions to the strength of the regional economy.

To be considered, companies must be based in Hampden or Hampshire counties or be a member of the Springfield Regional Chamber, have revenues of at least $1 million in the last fiscal year, be an independent and privately-owned company, and be in business at least three full years.  Companies are selected based on their percentage of revenue growth over a full three-year period or total revenues for the latest fiscal year.

“The success of this year’s winners is a clear indication that our regional economy is strong and reflects the diverse nature of our industries,” said Springfield Regional Chamber President Nancy F. Creed.  “Whalley Computer tops the Total Revenue list for the second year in a row and marking its 19th Super 60 win since 1998. Five Star Transportation moves from second place in Revenue Growth to top the list in the company’s second year as a Super 60 winner.”

She noted that 15 companies are first-time Super 60 winners.

Creed also noted that this year’s winners hail from 18 communities across the region and represent all sectors of the economy, including non-profit, transportation, energy, health care, technology, manufacturing, retail, and service.

One-quarter of the Total Revenue winners exceeded $40 million in revenues, with all the winners combining for more than $750 million. In the Revenue Growth category, Creed said that all winners had growth in excess of 13%, and one quarter of the top 30 companies had growth in excess of 75%.

Six companies in the Total Revenue category also qualified for the Revenue Growth category, while five companies in the Revenue Growth category also qualified for the Total Revenue category.
