PWC Luncheon to Feature Panel of Female College Presidents

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., November 26, 2018 –  The Professional Women‘s Chamber of Western Massachusetts (PWC), a division of The Springfield Regional Chamber, will present a luncheon on January 16, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Storrowton Tavern’s Carriage House, 1305 Memorial Avenue, West Springfield, featuring a panel of four area college presidents. The panel will be moderated by Katie Stebbins, vice president of economic development for the University of Massachusetts.

Dr. Carol Leary, president of Bay Path University, Dr. Mary-Beth Cooper, president of Springfield College, Dr. Christina Royal, president of Holyoke Community College, and Dr. Yves Salomon-Fernandez, president of Greenfield Community College, will speak about the career paths that led them to college presidencies, lessons learned along the way, and the challenges and rewards of leadership in higher education today.

Dr. Royal and Dr. Cooper are both the first female presidents to lead their colleges.  Dr. Salomon-Fernandez is the first woman of color to lead Greenfield Community College.
