ACCGS Announces 2005 Super 60

The Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield, Inc. (ACCGS) is pleased to announce this year’s winners of the annual Super 60 Award in the categories of revenue growth and total revenue.

Now in its sixteenth year, the ACCGS award honors the fastest-growing, privately-held companies in the region for their significant contributions to strength of the regional economy. Companies eligible for the award must be independent, privately-owned businesses, be based in either Hampden or Hampshire counties or be a member of the ACCGS, be in business for at least three full years and produce revenues of at least $1 million in the last fiscal year.

This year’s revenue winners combined for more than 1 billion, 127 million dollars in the past fiscal year with average revenue for the top 30 exceeding $30 million and 60% exceeding $20 million. Fifteen (15) companies are new to the revenue category this year. Seven (7) companies on the revenue list also qualify for the growth category. Three (3) of the 15 companies new to the category this year are also new to the top-ten revenue winners list.

In the growth category, the average growth among the winners was over 49% with companies having to have had at least 20.6% growth in order to be included in the category. 76% of the companies reported growth in excess of 30%. Eighteen (18) companies are new to the growth category this year and six (6) of these companies made it into the top 10 in revenue growth. Two (2) companies in the growth category also qualify for the revenue category.

As well, the companies represent all seven affiliate chambers of the ACCGS with the breakdown by Chamber as follows: Agawam Chamber – 4 honorees, East Longmeadow/Longmeadow Chamber – 6 honorees, Hampden/Wilbraham Chamber – 3 honorees, Ludlow Chamber - 1 honoree, Springfield Chamber – 18 honorees, West Springfield Chamber – 1 honoree, and the Westfield Chamber has 2 honorees.

Winners will be honored at the Super 60 Luncheon and Recognition Program sponsored by Health New England, Citizens Bank, PeoplesBank, Moriarty & Primack, P.C., Sovereign Bank, Westfield Bank and ACCGS Media Partner WWLP 22News on Friday, October 28 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Chez Josef in Agawam. Barry Kriger of WWLP 22News will serve as the master of ceremonies of the program. Cordia Harrington, president and CEO of the Tennessee Bun Company, will deliver the keynote address, focusing on the business of producing 60,000 buns an hour for clients including Pepperidge Farm, McDonald’s and Chile’s.
