ACCGS Announces 2004 Super 60

September 24, 2004

The Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield, Inc. (ACCGS) is pleased to announce this year’s winners of the annual Super 60 Award in the categories of revenue growth and total revenue.

Now in its fifteenth year, the ACCGS award honors the fastest-growing, privately-held companies in the region for their significant contributions to strength of the regional economy. Companies eligible for the award must be independent, privately-owned businesses, be based in either Hampden or Hampshire counties or be a member of the ACCGS, be in business for at least three full years and produce revenues of at least $1 million in the last fiscal year.

This year’s revenue winners combined for more than 1 billion, 440 million dollars in the past fiscal year. Five (5) companies are new to the revenue category this year. Five (5) companies on the revenue list also qualify for the growth category. Four (4) companies are new to the top-ten revenue winners list.

In the growth category, the average growth among the winners was over 65% with companies having to have had at least 26% growth in order to be included in the category. The combined average growth exceeded 65%, with 2/3rds of the companies having growth in excess of 32%. Of the 30 companies honored for revenue growth, 50% of these companies are new to the category this year and five of these companies made it into the top 10 in revenue growth. Two (2) companies in the growth category also qualify for the revenue category, while two (2) companies in the top 10 qualify for both lists.

As well, the companies represent all seven affiliate chambers of the ACCGS with the breakdown by Chamber as follows: Agawam Chamber – 5 honorees, East Longmeadow/Longmeadow Chamber – 5 honorees, Hampden/Wilbraham Chamber – 3 honorees, Ludlow Chamber - 2 honorees, Springfield Chamber – 22 honorees, West Springfield Chamber – 2 honorees, and the Greater Westfield Chamber has 3 honorees. Four companies hold dual chamber memberships.

Winners will be honored at the Super 60 Luncheon and Recognition Program sponsored by ConnectiCare/CIP, United Bank, ACCGS Media Partner WWLP 22News, Baystate Health System, and Springfield Day Nursery on Friday, October 29 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Chez Josef in Agawam.
