ACCGS Strategic Partners

The Affiliated Chambers of Commerce of Greater Springfield, Inc. recognizes the value of strategic partnerships to maximize services, create new leadership and enhance and advance member resources. The ACCGS will continuously strive to research viable alliances to provide the necessary services for our members. Our alliance with the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts, and partnership with the Regional Employment Board of Hampden County and Hartford Springfield Economic Partnership as well as InternHere.com, a regional intern resource introduced by the Graduate Retention Task Force of the Hartford/Springfield Economic Partnership, further enhances the pool of resources available to the Chamber to better serve the business community and sustain the region's economic vitality.

Founded in 1996, the Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts successfully brings together the region’s public and private leadership to create a positive environment for streamlined economic growth. Mayors, college presidents and CEOs work together in a unique collaboration that is efficient and effective. By bringing the entire region together behind the common goal of economic development, jobs, investment and tourism visits have increased. The EDC’s active marketing program promotes the region externally to attract businesses and promotes the region internally for the purpose of retaining businesses. The EDC works closely with its land-development affiliates to drive sales of commercial real estate in business parks, while its active lobbying efforts with its Government Affairs and Infrastructure Committees assure vital legislative initiatives are passed, the region’s public and private funding needs are met, and that transportation and telecommunication highways support a growing, competitive regional economy.

The Regional Employment Board of Hampden County, Inc. is a business-led, non-profit corporation established by state and federal legislation. The REB is the region’s primary policy-making authority in developing and improving workforce and career skills. The REB works in partnership with government, business, labor, education and community-based organizations. The REB coordinates, funds and oversees all of the region's publicly-funded worker training and employee placement programs and serves as a clearinghouse for labor market information and hiring incentives. This information is designed to help employers address their workforce needs and to help employees prepare for and advance in the workplace.
